Does anyone know how long and in what order will each band's sets will be?

Thanks,
BerBar

I haven't really heard much, other than it's a co-headlining tour. So, I'd expect them to trade off opening for one another and their sets should be similar in length. I'd assume around an hour each. I heard that PT is playing before C&C here in St. Louis.

Where did you go to get that info, T? As I will be attending the San Antonio show, I'm very interested to know who plays first there.

If you go on Ticketmaster, the St. Louis gig (As well as my Asheville gig and the San Antonio gig) says "Coheed & Cambria with Porcupine Tree." The 'with' at least implies PT is second fiddle. Other gigs are listed differently...

All of those gigs list C&C w/PT. Not PT w/C&C. Am I being dense?

No, but LA and LV list them as "CC/PT" implying they are co-headliners. The aforementioned gigs in St. Louis, Asheville and San Antonio have the "CC with PT" piece implying CC as the headliner. Maybe I'm over-reading it but that's what it seems...to clarify, by the term "second-fiddle" I meant PT is the opener for C&C.

SF is the clear winner though: PT with no CC! :chicken:

Nahhh, it's just the wacky way TM lists things. The PT site (under news) clearly says it's a co-headlining tour. Regardless of who goes first, they should play for a similar amount of time.

From Roadrunner Records:

This summer, UK art-rockers Porcupine Tree will join up with Coheed and Cambria for a 12-date co-headlining U.S. tour that kicks off at the Hollywood Palladium in LA August 12 (tickets on sale to the public Friday, June 25). It is the third round of U.S. touring for Porcupine Tree since the top-25 debut of “The Incident” (Roadrunner) last September.

These shows also continue the momentum that Porcupine Tree has built up over the last several months. At Coachella, The New York Times praised the “progressive rock virtuosos’ ” performance while the Wall Street Journal raved that Porcupine Tree “attacked [their] compositions with ferocity.” Porcupine Tree’s North American spring tour sold out, and they have already sold out their October show at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Personally, I think the "co-headlining" billing is just a show of respect to PT. I think C&C has the larger following (in the US at least) and I'd be surprised if they didn't close out each and every show (with the notable exception of SF of course).

I hope I'm wrong, and I really hope that either way they get the same set length.

Since the San Antonio was listed as C&C (with Porcupine Tree) I'm almost certain C&C will close the show out.

I recall the Mastodon/Dethklok co-headlining tour and they basically had the same amount of time (from what I heard, since I didn't stay for Dethklok).

I think you're right about C&C having a larger following...in fact, I know you're right. It's all good though. I recently purchased a couple of C&C CDs and I dig them a lot...so I'm happy seeing them.

I think PT and C&C will play equal length sets but C&C will close out. I went to the Yes/Peter Frampton tour and Frampton opened every show except one and both artists played equal length sets so hopefully the PT/C&C tour will be the same. I can't understand why the Dear Hunter are on the bill. If PT/C&C each want to play around 90 mins. then the Dear Hunter play 30 mins. and if it takes around 30 mins. to break down and set up each band's gear, we'll be there till next morning! (OK, I'm exaggerating)

Thanks for answering guys.

I hope both sets are the same length. And if not, I hope PT plays at least 1.5 hours. C&C is nice, but I'm not too much into them.

As soon as I saw they were playing "an evening with" type show in San Francisco I was all over it. Until my friend reminded me that we have tickets to see Rush in L.A. that night. I'll have to settle for the shared show the following night in L.A.

Is all good, I'll see Rush and the next night I'll see Porcupine Tree. Although, I really was hoping to see The Incident live in full for one last time :(

Good discussion all. Whichever way it turns out, 90 minutes of PT is better than none at all!

I have been listening to C&C lately to acquire the taste. It's not bad but they certainly are not big on economy of notes. Very busy all the time it seems.

Maybe PT will be available for a meet and greet after their set in which case I'm prolly bailing on C&C.

Tempting. I'll try to find a way to justify in my mind and to myself that is worth the coast to coast trip.

If that's the case, I'm bailing on Coheed too. Memphis is the 20th. If you're going to a show before then, let me know what goes one after PT's set.
